An overview of the ACIS instrument
on the AXAF satellite.
ACIS is the CCD imager,
and combines an imaging spectrometer with high
angular resolution and moderate
energy resolution and a grating readout
array which, in combination
with the HETG grating instrument, provides
very high energy resolution
from a slitless spectrometer.
