The optical and infrared transmissions of a sample ACIS filter with transmission properties similar to those of the flight ACIS-S OBF were measured at Penn State by Prof. Gordon Garmire. The sample was measured in the optical and infrared from 400nm to 950nm. The experimental configuration consisted of an ORIEL 10W light source, a f8 lens focusing the lamp through an aperture where the filter sample is placed, then a narrow band interference filter, a second f8 lens to focus the diverging light onto a silicon PN detector whose current is measured with a Keithly pico ammeter. The dark noise of the system is about 0.3 pico amps. Typical signals through the filter were around 150 pico amps.
