Eugene Moskalenko

Eugene Moskalenko received his Ph.D. from the Space Research Institute in Moscow, Russia in 1977. His thesis involved the design, launch and science data analysis of the Filin X-ray experiment aboard the space station Salyut-4. From 1977 to the present he was involved in a number of space astronomical experiments aboard Cosmos satellites, Salyut and Mir space stations, including data analysis and software development. He also worked with gamma-ray burst data and participated in international monitoring programs looking for optical counterparts of gamma-ray bursts. He was a lecturer at Sternberg Astronomical Institute of Moscow State University and at the Russian Space Training Center near Moscow, and published a book ``Methods of Space Astronomy'' in 1985. From 1994 he worked with postflight and science analysis of data from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Diffuse X-Ray Spectrometer experiment. He joined the CUBIC team in August 1996 and will be responsible for mission planning, data reduction, and data analysis.
