We will supply three major pieces of Ground Support Equipment (GSE): an Electronic GSE Panel (EGSE), a GSC (Ground Support Computer), and a DPW (Data Processing Workstation).
The EGSE provides power and relay control switches through the SAC-B interface connectors. Visual display of analog housekeeping monitors is provided through an umbilical connection into the housekeeping box for checkout during fabrication and testing in our labs only.
During pre-integration ground testing, digital science data acquisition and display, experiment command, and digital housekeeping monitoring are accomplished via the GSC, which simulates the SAC-B Command and Data Handling system. The GSC is a 386-based PC connected to CUBIC via the SAC-B interface connectors. The GSC is connected via Ethernet (using TCP/IP protocol) to the DPW (a Sun Microsystems workstation) which is used for data storage, processing, and analysis. The DPW includes a DAT (digital audio tape) magnetic tape drive for data storage and transfer. After integration, the DPW will be connected via Ethernet (TCP/IP) to the MOCC (Mission Operations Control Center) LAN. CUBIC data files will be copied to the DPW by the MOCC for quick-look processing by the DPW.
