Structure

The CUBIC structure is shown in Figure 7.

The 3D view is identical to that shown in Figure 6, except that the radiation plate and skins have been removed. The instrument resides within a rectangular box that sits on top of the SAC-B structure, and is supported by a framework of aluminum and stainless steel L struts fastened to the SAC-B structure at the corners. A thin baseplate encloses the bottom of the CUBIC experiment. Details of the mechanical design are provided in Appendix 1.
