The CUBIC Response Matrix

Logarithmic image of the CUBIC response matrix (CCD1, Amp 3), based on preflight calibration data. Incident energy is on the X axis and CCD energy channel is on the Y axis. The top diagonal line represents the main response to a monochromatic input line. The fainter diagonal line below it represents the escape peak (caused when the Si atom that absorbs the incident X-ray emits a Si-K photon which escapes from the pixel, with the result that the energy measured for the photon is 1.74 keV too low), and the even fainter horizontal line is the Si-K fluorescent line.
