Ísland is the most per capita Web intensive nation in the world. This is not hard when there are only 260,000 odd people there, but on the other hand the island is about the size of the North American Great Lakes all put together. That's bigger than England.
For US Webbers,

is an excellent sites describing
Ísland.
The Icelandic Embassy
in Washington also has a useful
page. As does the newsmagazine
Iceland Review.

Home Pages.
Miðheimar (Centrum),
is a nice little web company, recently apparently taken
over by Skíma.
OZ is one of the hottest WWW companies around, and have what must be the best creative team around.
Icelandic music is doing well, even if they're not all quite as famous as Björk, yet.
Hrafn also has
a web page all should visit.
Other errant relatives are
Kaddi and
Halldóra.
On a more serious note, the
Marine Research Institute is an excellent source of information
on the North Atlantic fishies. The
National Energy Authority is one of the best of its kind
in the world (IMHO), and the University
is a handy source of information as everywhere.
Oh, and our Government is now on-line, while our Parliament were the first to go on-line and look set to stay.
