For those of you who would like to take another Gen-Ed class in astronomy, the Dep't of Astronomy and Astrophysics offers three options
• ASTRO 120, The Big Bang Universe, explores the birth and fate of the universe, and the mysteries of dark matter and dark energy.
• ASTRO 130, Black Holes in the Universe, considers the predicted properties of black holes, the evidence for their existence, and implications for space, time, and gravity.
• ASTRO 140, Life in the Universe, studies the origins of stars, planets, and life on Earth, along with the search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence.

  ASTRO 140: Life in the Universe is being offered next fall.

  Next fall, the Astronomy Department will also be offering a new course, Astro 5, The Sky and Planets. Unfortunately, this class, which expands on the material presented in the first and fourth quarter of the course, is not available to students who have taken Astro 1 or 10. But you can tell your friends about it.
