The 2 Ms Chandra Deep Field-South Survey

This WWW site presents results from the 2 Ms Chandra Deep Field-South survey. This survey is composed of 23 separate Chandra ACIS-I observations with a total exposure of 1.911 Ms. The total solid angle covered by these observations is about 436 square arcmin, and 578 X-ray point sources are detected.

The basic X-ray and optical properties of the detected sources indicate a variety of source types. Active galaxies dominate the number of detected sources, but a significant number of starburst and normal galaxies are detected as well. Further investigations of the detected sources are underway.
