Emily's Universe

Personal Stuff

Welcome to my Personal Stuff pages. This is the place to be if you want to know more about me, my interests, the reason for my two last names, etc. There's also some funny stories around, because sometimes my life is just plain hilarious. For more details, feel free to continue reading below and follow the links to the individual pages in this section.

About Me

Used to be called "My Life In Two Hundred Words Or Less" but then I realized that I need more words because I talk too much, especially since I included my likes and dislikes in there. There's a bunch of pictures of me in here too, so enter at your own risk.

The "two last names" issue

Why yes, I do have two last names, and look at that, I've got no middle name at all! Both "Alicea" and "Muñoz" are surnames, and I get quite annoyed when people assume that one of them is a middle name. Clicky to bask in the glory of my rant.

Websites I've Designed

A few years ago I got interested in web design, so I've designed and maintaned a few websites over the years. Details about the older versions of "Emily's Universe" can also be found here.

Puerto Rico FAQ

This is my PR-FAQ, a compilation of questions about Puerto Rico that I've been asked frequently (and sometimes repeatedly) in the time I've spent in the US.

Funny Stories

Really, sometimes my life is just plain hilarious...

A Quote I Like

"Poets say science takes away from the beauty of the stars -mere globs of gas atoms. I, too, can see the stars on a desert night, and feel them. But do I see less or more?"
-Richard P. Feynman

Yet Another Sign That I Am A Nerd

Years ago, while going through my music collection, I was labeling tracks by artist and title, and I caught myself labeling the performers of the "Lady Marmalade" song as "C. Aguilera et al" ... And that, my friends, is how you definitely determine, without a shadow of a doubt, that you are a nerd (as if I needed more proof)...

And A Sign That John Is A Dork Too

Trying to figure out why the wireless signal kept going on and off, John comments: "I think the kitties are optically thick to wireless signals..."

Algunos Saludos...

I love you :-*
