Shannon took up running in 2001 and trained for the Charlottesville Ten Miler with her running partner, Annoica Ingram. After running the ten miler, they trained for the 2001 Marine Corps Marathon and successfully completed it together. Since then, Shan has run many races and keeps moving her way up the list towards the top.
