Elderhostel
Main Content
Elderhostels provide members of the public at ages 55 and over an opportunity for concentrated, in depth exploration of a specific topic. The Department has hosted a week-long elderhostel on astronomy every summer since 2007, which is taught by Jane Charlton, Chris Palma, and Kevin Luhman. The latest elderhostel was entitled Planets, Stars, Galaxies, and the Universe and was held June 19-24, 2011, at the Penn State University Park campus. The next elderhostel is planned for summer 2012. For details concerning the program and registration, please see the Road Scholar site.
