Research Description

My research is currently focused on numerical simulations of general relativity. As surprising as it may seem at first, the two body problem of general relativity is unsolved. One of the key problems in numerical relativity is therefore to construct initial data describing two black holes in vacuum, evolve them, and analyze the result, e.g. compute the emitted gravitational waves that could be observed on earth.
