An instrument configuration should be specified as instrument_key1_key2_key3_...where the first keyword specifies the einstruments and the following keywords specify either optical elements or modes. Keywords should be separated by underscores and the configuration should have no spaces in it. In most cases the keywords consist of lower case letters and numbers, although there are a few exceptions where upper case letters are used.
