• We notice that the moon appears to change shape over the course of one month. Lab 3 will help you understand exactly why this happens.


• When drawing the moon phases in part e, make sure to do the exercise where you stand in front of the overhead projector with the moon ball. It is extremely helpful in understanding the moon phases. Almost everyone who tries to do part e without doing the exercise mentioned above gets it wrong.


• For the summary, remember to separate what you learned from what you did. The exercise with the moon ball is probably not as important as the concepts it taught you.
